Spiritual abuse is happening in increasing numbers around the world. As Christian fundamentalism grows, so do the numbers of psychological and “spiritual” abuse victims. As one who has experienced spiritual abuse, I now advocate for ex-cult members and those who have experienced spiritual and psychological abuse in the hands of clergy. Read more in my eBook:

Use of Names on this Site

Names on this site have been changed to protect the guilty and the innocent. The only exception to that is on Cult Lists and pages which identify churches which have abuse allegations against them. There you will find real names of founders of those movements who are public figures. This site shares that information and personal stories for the purpose of bringing awareness to subjects which are otherwise not spoken of publicly for fear of retribution from powerful members of clergy. We exist to bring peaceful dialogue, behind-the-scenes true stories, and to promote knowledge of the U.S. laws which protect church volunteers and members of teen discipleship programs from torture, abuse, and isolation tactics. We exist to be a mouthpiece for the voiceless and to give agency to former cult members. The term cult is sometimes arbitrary and the founder of this site came to use that term after much research. The author believes that there are cult-like traits in all Evangelical and Fundamentalist movements and churches in America, but the movements mentioned here are more isolated; therefore more controlling.
